I have been working on several things this summer. I am taking a professional recertification course, and I attended a technology conference earlier this month. Last week, I volunteered at a camp for deaf children. So, I have not had a lot of time to focus on finding temporary employment for the summer. As, the summer passes and August draws nearer, I am not sure that I will. However, I can still began to start to focus on refining a job hunt for future employment.
I receive job alerts, but they do not fit my needs. Maybe, I need to reprogram my job alerts at these online career sites. I will try to figure out the next best step.

Week #3
This past week I attended a technology conference for educators. It was interesting and informative and I am still reviewing information from the conference. I received some information from other online career sites but nothing to supplement income for the summer. So I will keep searching. Something will happen soon.

Next Steps !
This weekend I plan to use search engines and some online websites to look for employment. I have been doing this for months but now I am looking for summer employment. Summer is here and I will need some income for the months that school is out. But I am limited because I am taking workshops, one is out of town, as well as some courses. So I am looking for online income. I am sure something will turn up soon!

Work At Home
This summer I am trying to find a work at home job because I really do not have time to drive to a regular job. However, all of my internet searches turn up jobs that need me to check in with a regular office or keep office hours. I need a more flexible schedule. I am taking courses and attending workshops this summer. I will need to keep searching !!

Summer Fun
As the school year was ending, I began to think of ways to supplement my income from home. I began to search on- line work at home opportunities such as data entry or typing. The problem is when I search telecommuting data entry or work at home data entry, I get jobs that need full time employees permanently. The problem is that my summer is filled with recertification workshops and courses. I must complete these to maintain a valid teaching certificate. So I am stuck.

Why I am looking for full time employment ?
Currently, during the school year, I am either at work or at school. I work as hard as none with full time employment because I am rarely at home. And because many of the courses for my area of study are offered on line, I ususally have Saturday classes. So why is a person with two graduate degrees looking for full time employment? Well, I worked in government for several years. At that time the economy was bad and security for continuous employment was up in the air. I had just completed graduate school, and I would be released first in a budget cut. Our grants were not secure. I returned to school to become a certified educator. At that time education jobs were pretty secure.
I had an illness and left teaching for over ten years. When I returned, I was old enough to experience job discrimination. And my graduate degree ,which usually is a plus became a disadvantage. A 22 year old with no experience is cheaper to hire than a teacher with a master's. So I began working as a certified substitute and have been doing this for 4 years. So, that answers, somewhat, why am I looking for full time employment.

JOB SEARCH JOURNEY
I am on a journey to find employment. I am taking ASL courses and working part time. I hope to one day work with deaf students in some capacity. My employment has taken me on several paths. And I am attempting to find the ideal job. I have been without full time employment for some time. I will blog and let you know how my search comes along. I hope this blog can help me to organize my thoughts and clear my mind.
